Also not all bacteria has the ability to break down grease toilet paper and other waste. Septic tanks can be coupled with other onsite wastewater treatment units such as biofilters or aerobic systems involving artificially forced aeration. It comes from the organic waste that s flushed into the tank. When the liquids in the tank reach the drainfield they drain safely into the yard without causing a clog.
